Romania (Region)

Though the region was only unified once for a brief period under Michael the Brave, the idea of a unified Romania was long desired, and on the brink of fulfillment after 1881 with the formal unification of Moldavia and Wallachia, before splitting again in 1913 and then further complicating in 1920 with the birth of Transylvania.

As of 1936 there are three 'Romanias':

• The Kingdom of Romania, what remains of the kingdom after the Great War, led by a controversial and ambitous King Carol the 2nd and his diverse Front of National Renaissance, who just barely get along.
• The Republic of Moldova, originally an Entente puppet state, a recent fall of goverment has led to a snap election being called, with the exiled Legion of Archangel Michael, hoping to grab control, along with others working in the shadows.
• The Transylvanian Republic of Councils, born from the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, and effectivley a puppet of the Hungarians, the more national Romanian socilaists are still hoping for a Red Romania, along with a splinter of the Legion.
